I’ve started so many new projects this month that I haven’t had time to actually sit down and write about them. I’m doing another 365 self portrait project, technically my 5th, though it’s my 4th shared online. I’m doing a different theme every week to give it structure and it’s definitely keeping me inspired.

sketch-a-day January 1 - 4

I got another sketch a day journal for Christmas. I filled my last one from my 27th birthday to my 28th and it was a lot of fun. This year I’m coloring my sketches as well.

Another Christmas gift that has unexpectedly changed my life is this dry erase calendar that attaches to the fridge. I have planned a menu every week this month (is it more impressive to say this year? I’ve planned a menu every week this year!) as well as outlined my daily housework tasks. I keep it fairly general, I focus on a single room every day, with Fridays open for whatever problem areas I might have noticed over the week. I don’t let myself worry about anything but the task at hand and I feel so much calmer.

I could also be feeling calmer because I started the DoYouYoga 30 Day Yoga Challenge on the 11th. I finished day 19 today and I can’t imagine starting my day without yoga anymore. I’ll have to find something else to do once the challenge ends! I would like to get back into regular pilates as well, because that always made me happy, but I injured myself last Autumn and felt like I needed something less aerobic to ease myself into a regular fitness routine.

The lack of housework as a result of death in the family lament.

It’s more in my head than anything else. 2nd load of laundry in the dryer right now, stuff strewn about BUT in an aspect of tidying (pulling the room out to the middle, putting it all back, preparing to put up the halloween decor) the dishes are clean, and I cook dinner, as an affair, 4 or 5 nights a week.

I’m focusing on food in the sink right now. It has its own little following.
