dinner twenty-thirteen

For the past year I have been photographing most of the dinners I cook. I’ve definitely missed some meals when it was something I had already gotten a picture of. I’m still really happy with the way the project has turned out. It’s almost like a menu, on uninspired days I can skim through it and remember a meal that was quick, easy, and tasty. It’s been really exciting, as well, to use it as a little extra push to make new things.

Here are a couple shots from each month of the year. There are more here. Recipes cited where applicable!

Day 29, June 25

There are a lot of words I have about a lot of things, but they sort of well up inside me and spill out in emails to my best friend or drunkenly onto my pillow while Shaun & I snuggle doze another rewatch of Star Trek: The Next Generation. I have a lot photos to accompany these words. I guess it’s okay if you’re lifing it up and forget to write about it, but it sure is fun, in the breaks between photoshoots and dental appointments, to look at your pretty, wordpressed scrapbook and feel the warm fuzzies of a good reminiscence. Let’s do this again.

a photo day with megan, march 30, 2011

At the end of March I went out to the homestead with my friend Megan, who was visiting from Georgia. It was creatively revivifying.

NaNoWriMo, Disney World, Christmas

I finished the short story goal I had set myself and then disappeared, I know, I know. For some reason getting me to write immediately after I win NaNoWriMo is like pulling teeth. It’s weird. I’m really enjoying keeping the blog up and then I wander off. So, I’m a little sad that that happens, but I just have to accept that that’s the way it is and move on.

December was a huge month for me. The first week and a half was spent recovering from NaNoWriMo, cleaning house and packing my bags, because on the 10th we hopped in the car to drive to Disney World. It was an absolutely amazing trip.

When we got home it was time to start the Christmas festivities. I got Veganomicon for Christmas and have already made 5 recipes from it. It’s an awesome cookbook. I feel inspired and alive and overwhelmed! Life has been hectic and delightful and as a result I haven’t done laundry in over three weeks. So, what I should doing right now instead of updating this little blog of mine is laundry. I guess I’ll go get on that…

Hope everyone had a great holiday season and enjoys the new year before them! <3
