I actually got back on track yesterday! Having written 11 complete NaNoWriMo novels (After 4 failures, never give up!), I have gotten better at pushing through the slumps. I know the pattern of highs and lows and I know that if I just spend the lows describing furniture I will eventually find something that sparks another high. A lot of description wouldn’t make the final draft, but the process of describing a place gets you into the scene. It’s like doing research in your own imagination. I also know that even if I only write 600 words one day I’m completely capable of writing 3,950 another, and that’s what I did yesterday. ♥
Here’s the last sentence I wrote:
She supposed she would get used to it, and more, spending her time with the two active little girls.
15353 / 50000 words. 31% done!
